´Nduja is a soft, spicy hot, spreadable salami considered one of the most famous, if not the most famous, of typical Calabrian foods. ´Nduja originates from Spilinga and you shouldn’t settle for anything else. The herbs that are used in that area are just so unique. It’s the true taste of the Italian south – warm, intense, and stuffed with chili. A must-try is Pinsa with nduja and red onion.
We have 3 different types of Pecorino Monteporo. Monte Poro is a mountain area that looks out over the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria. The area has abundant pasture that is remarkable for the great biodiversity of its grasses. Today there are fewer than 10 producers of Monte Poro small-scale farmers with around 100 sheep each. Pecorino is a must for cheese lovers!
This premium quality spicy sausage is the most popular traditional salami from Calabria. It´s made from the shoulder of the pork. Medium cut, it´s seasoned with spicy peppers and cured for at least 30 days. For the brave, we recommend Salsiccia Piccante for the not so brave we have the really tasty Salsiccia Dolce!
This delicious salami melts in your mouth. It´s made with pork meat selected from the thigh and loin. Despite being produced in many areas around Italy such as Basilicata, Puglia, Abbruzzo, and Molise the only product with the PDO mark of quality is the Calabrian one. Only available in our shop!
Fileja for us is nonna Cristina for Sunday´s lunch in Italy. We can still smell the homemade ragu´ all over the house. She´s been already up for hours cooking and preparing while we´ve been in bed sleeping. This pasta is the closest you can get to the homemade traditional receipt of nonna Cristina.
